Draft in Spring
This is an album that builds on the guitar sampling and recording techniques I started in 'Stereoscope'
It was released on 'Serein Records', which is an excellent netlabel run by Huw Roberts. The release's physical component was a series of screen prints from Antonia Chandler.
I was really into the idea of 'less is more' at the time. The tracks are brief, Intended to keep the listener engaged without become a 'drone' album.
The tracks here were selected from 100's of demos and WIPS. I feel there is more to explore and release with these sounds!
I was particularly inspired by an album called 'Dropsonde' by Biosphere. Also, Dan Abrams (Shuttle 358) and Basic Channel were big ones.
What does the title 'Draft in Spring' mean? To be honest, I don't quite remember! It's a bit artsy isn't it?
